This will list some of the more common questions with a brief answer and analysis so that you can make your own assessment of the matter.

Is it worth staying in a relationship because of how long you've been in it?

Certainly not. Staying in a relationship because you've been in it for 3 years is not a reason for trying to keep it together. There are a myriad of other reasons that are more compelling than this one and it does deserve some recognition. But this one reason should not be an overriding factor in tipping the scales one way or the other.

Should I try to get even with my partner after a breakup?

If you believe in karma then you won't even think about this strategy. Whatever you do to try to get some kind of retribution or satisfaction that misery loves company will only come back to haunt you. If you have left your partner for good reason then leave it be. Everyone has their own life to live and your life right now is the most important to get back on track.

Should I stay together at any cost?

The world doesn't need another martyr. Any cost usually signifies that you give up your hopes and dreams of what your own aspirations should be. No relationship should rob you of that and don't use this reason to keep the relationship together.

Why shouldn't I blame my partner for my woes?

Because it takes two to tango. I'm sure you've heard that expression before and its certainly true in this case. For whatever reasons the relationship didn't work out or even if you're still in it and it's not going in the direction that you want don't blame anyone but yourself. Once you take credit for that then you can institute change starting with yourself. You will be surprised at your outlook on life will be once you are accountable to yourself for what happens to you.
