Orange County – The Next Beverly Hills?

By: Dr. David Glick

Many parts of Orange County are often characterized as Beverly Hills South. You may

recognize such top notch regions as: Newport Beach, Laguna Beach; Cota de Caza; Dana Point

and others. Much of Orange County is distinguished by beautifully laid out neighborhoods

with lavish homes which rival those of Beverly Hills. A recent published article listed 5

reasons why Orange County plastic surgery is at much higher standards than other surrounding

areas. The widespread affluence in Orange County is the first of these reasons…
1. In Orange County appearances are everything. More so than West L.A., Orange County beach

cities are known for their 'beach and tan' culture. Residents of cities like Laguna Niguel;

Irvine; Laguna Hills and Aliso Viejo are more likely to seek out body contouring cosmetic

treatments such as liposuction and tummy tuck Orange County in order to meet the

bronze-bodied, bikini-clad appearance standards of the community.
2. Since so much of the community is affluent, willing to spend the means for good quality

plastic surgery, and expect the superior care that comes with it, many successful Orange

County plastic surgeons are likely to be board certified with first rate educations and

experience. Orange County has a substantial number of first rate cosmetic care clinics that

include plastic surgery along with a full range of spa services.
3. Many hospitals in the area understand the importance of plastic surgery as a service.

MemorialCare has five affiliated hospitals in Orange County; one of them is a children's

hospital in Long Beach that specializes in reconstructive plastic surgery for children. The

existence of such specialties in different areas means that plastic surgery in general is

going to be of high quality.
4. The changes in the dynamics of plastic surgery in general have shown that procedures like

breast augmentation and facial treatments such as Botox are not just for the wealthy

anymore. The prices for cosmetic plastic surgery aren't what they once were. Many middle

class families with healthy incomes can now afford and often do seek out several popular

cosmetic procedures. With the technology and techniques utilized by today's plastic

surgeons, nearly every plastic surgery procedure, including Orange County breast

augmentation can be an outpatient procedure.
5. Lastly, the plastic surgery centers of Orange County understand that theirs is a diverse

market. For example, prominent plastic surgery centers who advertise for new staff often

include that "bilingual a plus." There are several affluent Hispanic and Vietnamese

communities in Orange County who can afford plastic surgery and seek it out for the same

reasons as other communities, in order to meet the high standards of physical appearances.
