Reverse Phone Numbers

By: Julie Landry

Since most phone numbers these days aren't published in any phone book (unlisted and cell numbers), these phone records aren't available in any "public domain". Instead, companies have to pay money to have access to these records and then build databases that detective agencies, law enforcement and now the general public can search through.

Conducting a reverse cell phone search isn't expensive and is extremely easy to do. You type in the phone number (everything is done online at the company's website), hit the search button and the owner's information will be shown on your computer screen instantly. You will see their name and address along with other background information.

There are a lot of reasons why a person might need to conduct a cell phone number trace. Some reasons are to track prank callers, to find out who the suspicious number in your spouse's cell phone represents, and many more. Whatever reason you have, with the advanced technology of today, you can find a lot of information about anyone just using a number.

Cell phone details are generally not listed in the free directories for reasons of maintaining confidentiality. In fact, one of the very reasons people opt to buy a cellular phone is because it offers them privacy. With a cell phone you can virtually choose which people's calls you would like to receive. No longer do you need to worry about being hassled by unwanted telemarketing agents, who constantly pester you to buy the most mundane things at all the wrong times. Such intrusions of privacy are not possible with a cell phone, to a large extent. But note the word 'large extent.' No longer are cell phone number searches impossible, thanks to the increasing presence of online resources which offer a reverse cell phone directory.

Simply by typing the cell phone number you want to search in the search box of your favorite search engines you can get the information or details you want. To get the cell phone number of a particular person you must try out different variations that people use for cell phone numbers.

However, free online cell phone lookups are not reliable and it is better to become a member in online search engine services for a small amount of fee to get their unlimited access to their databases.

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for and if you don't pay for the reverse lookup cell phone number search, you are only going to get a limited amount of detail back, if at all. Unless you wish to be disappointed, it might be better off just finding a paid site that suits you and the number of searches you plan to do. At least that way, and especially with the money back guarantee, you will get the details and information you want, or get your cash back and try again with another site if that's what you choose to do.

There are pro's and con's for both free and fee reverse lookup cell phone sites, but in my opinion, you would be much better off going for the ones that you have to pay for rather than risking time and effort on the ones that you don't!
