The Variety of Management Styles

By: Nolan Gaskins

Let us not comment upon the minor styles of management and concentrate all our attention at two major ones. Since, as you know, the shade of styles differ from company to company, so, it will be more reasonable to comment upon the authoritarian style of management and its opposite counterpart - participative style.
Thus, they both serve the demands and profitability of the company, but the principle that lies in the central policy of each of them differs greatly. So, if the authoritarian style of management is the leading in the company, the working process is as follows: there is certain hierarchy between higher and lower employers. In other words, there is the so-called chain of orders at all working levels. The main objective of this style is to make the employers work and then control their work fully.
As for the participative style of management, it has nothing to do with the control and forcing to work. The main principle here is the collaboration of all the levels of working stuff. All the suggestions are welcome no matter whether they come from lower layers or from higher ones, if they are rather productive, they will be discussed.
