Rose Quartz

Postby vintagechick on Fri Dec 01, 2006 1:38 pm

:) soft pink usually translucent stone, from south Africa, japan, India, US :)

Rose quartz has to be one of my favourite crystals, stone of unconditional love, it purifies and opens the heart chakra,it is a calming crystal which reassures in times of crisis. To attract or keep love, keep a piece by your bed or in the romance corner of your home(far right hand corner of bedroom) rose quartz helps rid negative energy and replace it with loving vibes, excellent for mending broken hearts.Hold a piece over your heart regularly in this case.

As a healing stone, rose quartz aids ailments of the chest area, also used with Alzheimers and senile dementia.

It is safe to cleanse rose quartz in running water. :)

I got some rose quartz today.

Looking in the shop notice some were smooth and shiny others were a bit rougher any difference between the two

Also saw many different sizes of all different crystals. Dare i say it does size matter

Also when you say the far right corner of the bedroom, from which direction is this from.

The front door, or the main port of entrance.

We've always used the back door, hardly ever use the front door. Read in a book on clutter  that if the back door is used as the norm to treat it as the front door.

:) There is no real difference, the smoother stones are simply polished crystals, its down to personal preference really, I often like the rougher stones because of the different facets you can see in them, and I usually go for a larger stone if I am going to have it somewhere in the home, but a smaller one if I am going to carry it on my person. When you are buying crystals always pick them up and handle them and then make your choice :) Rose Quartz is an excellent choice nightowl, your romance corner is supposedly the far right hand corner of your bedroom from the bedroon door, but equally effective is your bedside table or under your pillow.
:) best of luck :)

I tried everywhere to get that magazine, but no-one in this region seems to have stocked it.

I have two pieces of rose quartz. One is a smooth heart shape which is beautiful and has given me much pleasure. I recently purchased a nice craggy unpolished piece, which is giving me pleasure in a different way. The smooth one is lovely to hold and to place on my forehead, and even to take out with me in a little purse. The rough piece is nice to simply look at. I also bought a piece of rough amethyst, still on its outer rock casing, and this is lovely to look at also.

I have quite a few pieces of smooth crystals of various kinds, mostly bought from Ebay. I never would have believed that I would get so much sheer pleasure from owning crystals like this. I have now also bought a copy of the Crystal Bible.

You may have read on another post that I purchased some for a friend with cancer. She also is beginning to take a great interest in learning about the various types and their attributes.

Hi Ariadne,
I am so glad you are enjoying your crystals, and the crystal bible is the best reference book available, try getting the crystals that relate to your chakras and do a chakra cleansing on yourself, I think it may tell you about this in the crystal bible, if not I will do a post on it.

Well, haven't got that far yet Gena. Have been concentrating on sorting out for my friend. Because I have had a bad chest infection I couldn't go near her to give her the crystals because of the chemo. and the danger of infection for her.

Am much better now so have only today cleansed the crystals and packed them up and posted them off to her.

Will start to read the Crystal Bible properly now and see what I can learn.

:) The best advice I can give you Ariadne, is to take your time and get to know your crystals one at a time, I have a friend who likes crystals but she told me that initially she was carrying many around with her, unknown to her some of the energies were clashing, keep your rose quartz beside you at bedtime, its a peaceful loving crystal and can soothe you. :)
